Some of the most interesting wines produced in the Marco de Jerez come from Viña El Corregidor, in the historic Carrascal Alto estate. These are those made by Luis Pérez, better known as Willy, renouncing the sherry heading of recent decades and thus placing himself in a previous moment, when sherries were made without heading.
The grade of the wines is, therefore, the natural grade reached by the grapes through maturation on the vine and through the traditional sun exposure system, the importance of which Luis Pérez never tires of repeating. Of course, such viticultural and oenological challenges are costly and this explains why the same wines cannot be put on the market every year. The vintage rules. So much so that, on this occasion, what has just been marketed is a PX Barajuela from 2014. Smooth, fresh, different from all the PX that have been tested.
