Mazuelo is a late-ripening variety that requires a long time to reach optimal ripeness and is also susceptible to most diseases. In the Finca San Rafael vineyard, the conditions converge for its proper phenolic and technological maturity.
After a manual harvest, the grapes ferment spontaneously in raw concrete vats. It undergoes 16 months of aging in French oak barrels.
This wine is characterized by its finesse and gentleness. The nose is complex and deep, with soft woody notes. On the palate, we find great refinement, a silky finish, and a pleasant sensation of acidity. The volume wraps around the palate and disappears, leaving a silky sensation from its tannins and the elegance of the vintage, which we rarely find.
