Among its whiskies is the Cardhu 12 Years, a Scottish single malt achieved through small batch distillation using a slow process, which finishes with a 12-year aging in oak casks. This liquor owes its pleasant taste and excellent characteristics to the climatic conditions of the area where it is made, as well as the use of icy water from the glacial Spey River in the blend.
A honey-colored whisky with golden highlights, it has an intense aroma of pear and walnuts with hints of spice. On the palate, it stands out for its sweet and smooth flavor, a signature trait of Cardhu whiskies. It can be served neat or on the rocks.
In all its strength, it is captivating and sharp on the nose, with drops of pear and notes of heather, resin, and sweet honey-nut tightly integrated. Tempting. Intriguing. Adding a little water makes it still harmonious but less pronounced, allowing hints of malted cereal, soft and spicy wood, moorland, and faint traces of wood smoke to emerge.
Well-balanced, with a smooth mouthfeel; a short, sweet, and fresh punch followed by a pronounced drying effect. Elegant. Pleasing at any time, with little or no water.
