Description

At Marqués de Riscal, there were winemaker's wines within their Historical Reserve, such as Reserva Medoc and XR, though they were never commercial names. In the style of Bordeaux cellar masters, the winemaker would mark some of his barrels with chalk and the word XR, having found special characteristics not found in others. This XR was never marketed, but it always served as a reference for the master winemaker. This tradition lasted nearly a century, between the 1869 and 1964 harvests.

Description
