Each year, Emilio Moro produces a wine in the Ribera del Duero, with grapes coming only from plots selected by the Moro family that, due to vintage and characteristics, will bring out the greatest expression of a brand like Emilio Moro. These plots have been the fundamental pillar for producing great wines and give their name to the Vendimia Seleccionada brand of Bodegas Emilio Moro.
The image of Emilio Moro Vendimia Seleccionada is a tribute to the first labels the winery released in the late 1980s, wines that brought with them a trail of great wines in the Ribera del Duero.
The climate of the 2021 vintage was marked by mild temperatures during spring, accumulated rainfall in April, and a summer with slightly lower temperatures than usual, which slowed down the plant’s vegetative cycle. By the start of autumn, rainfall was scarce, which favored the ripening of the grapes.
Made from Tempranillo grapes from specially selected vines by our technical department. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by aging in French oak barrels.
The wine has a Bordeaux red color. On the nose, it is intense and expressive with a fruity base of great elegance. At its optimal maturity point, it highlights a good balance between the primary aromas and the spicy notes from the wood aging. In the glass, it naturally evolves into elegant and complex notes without losing its characteristic fruity base. On the palate, it presents a great body sustained by abundant yet rounded and very pleasant tannins, with balanced acidity. The aftertaste is long and very persistent.
