The year 2014 was an extraordinarily rainy year and a spring marked by high temperatures that favored the vegetative development of the vine. During the summer, temperatures were slightly above average and there was scarce rainfall, but thanks to the cool nights, the vines did not suffer stress, which greatly favored the complete aromatic and polyphenolic maturity. The benevolent climate led to an early harvest, which prevented the October rains from compromising the health of the grapes.
The result is a wine with a very intense cherry red color that has aged well. On the nose, it is extremely elegant and complex with a mature base of black fruit enriched with nuances from its time in wood. The 18-month aging in French oak barrels has shaped this Horcajo 2014 to bring out the best of its vintage. On the palate, it stands out for its balance and warmth with a long and persistent aftertaste.
