Marqués de Murrieta Primer Rose is a rosé wine from the D.O. Rioja produced by Bodegas Marqués de Murrieta, located in Logroño, La Rioja.
Marqués de Murrieta is a classic Rioja winery with more than 160 years of experience in the world of wine. Its founder traveled to the Bordeaux region to learn winemaking techniques and brought his know-how to La Rioja, building a French Chateau-style castle on his Ygay estate.
Primer Rosé is made with grapes from the 5-hectare Pago Lucas, planted in 1985 on the Ygay Estate. Its soil is clay-calcareous with the presence of pebbles on the surface and is located at 350 meters above sea level.
Made exclusively with red grapes of the Mazuelo variety. After receiving the grapes, they are destemmed and the must is separated from the skin, thus extracting the essence, the most delicate must. It is placed in a concrete tank for slow alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 10°C, avoiding malolactic fermentation.
After fermentation, it lives with its fine lees for 5 months, giving it density.
A crystalline pinkish color and a seductive aromatic range that displays notes of wild strawberries and currants, undergrowth, rose petals and aromatic herbs. Firm and fruity on the palate. Balance and harmony that give way to an exquisite finish. “We reaffirm the success of the tandem mazuelo and concrete to make this beautiful rosé” María Vargas - Technical Director
