The oldest vines of Bodegas Martín Códax rest on the Xieles estate. Facing the sea, they rise on a terrain with a marked slope, divided by stone walls. Planted at the end of the 19th century, covering more than one hectare, they form the most important traditional harvesting ground in Cambados. A granite soil, low in fertility and with low yield. Fine vines with twisted shapes that show the passage of time, bringing grapes that, fermented in concrete eggs, result in a unique wine that stands out for its minerality.
Finca Xieles is a tribute to the winemaking tradition of the Val do Salnés.
Aged for 6 months in concrete tanks.
Of straw yellow color, clear and crystalline.
Of medium intensity with citrus notes, like grapefruit, and white fruit notes, like apple and pear. Floral notes of gardenia and hyacinth. And balsamic and herbaceous notes, like rosemary.
In the mouth, it is intense, long, and citrusy, broad with good acidity. Great volume. With a balsamic retro-nasal finish.
