When the expedition to the New World departed in 1495, it did so loaded with wines from Villalba del Alcor. In old Spanish, Villalba was called Villalúa, and it is here that the Marqués de Villalúa winery is located, intimately linked to this event and its region. This wine is a celebration of this historic event. A single-varietal of Zalema harvested at three different times and partially fermented in barrels, followed by 5 months of aging, achieving a very interesting aromatic complexity.
Single-varietal Zalema partially fermented in barrels and aged for 5 months in different types of oak barrels with different toasts, thus achieving greater aromatic complexity.
Manual night harvest at three different times: early harvest, at the optimal moment of ripening, and later harvest.
Cold pre-fermentation macerations to extract greater quantity and quality of aromas.
Bright and clean golden yellow color. On the nose, we find fresh varietal aromas over aging notes. On the palate, it is fresh, friendly, and balanced with a mouthfeel where the wood is more present.
